Shari L. Mace, O.D.

Office:  Lake Grove

Born in Kansas City, Dr. Shari Mace lived in Ohio, Kansas, and Colorado growing up. She did undergraduate studies as a chemistry major at Colorado State University before moving to Oregon in pursuit of her optometric degree. She earned a Bachelor of Science magna cum laude in Visual Science in 1984 and her Doctor of Optometry degree with distinction in 1987 from Pacific University College of Optometry. She has been in private practice in Colorado and Oregon and joined Oregon Eye Specialists in 2000. Dr. Mace has worked as an advisor at Pacific University’s Vision Clinics and has served as an Examiner for the National Board of Examiners in Optometry since 1996.

During the last eight years Dr. Mace has specialized in refractive surgery care, working with surgeon Timothy Denman, M.D. She provides pre-operative consultation and evaluation for potential refractive surgery patients, corneal rehabilitation, and post-operative care. Working with patients to determine how to best realize their vision goals and then following their progress over the course of a year is what Dr. Mace really enjoys about her work in refractive surgery.

Shari is married to fellow optometrist, Stephen Olsen, and has two children attending elementary school in Lake Oswego. Volunteering in both classrooms and for school functions keeps her busy outside of work. She enjoys spectating at her children’s sport events, photography, and gardening.
